Blown Top and Relief

This guy comes in and wants to take out $9G that he just deposited the day before.

I call for an approval and he starts getting mad. We take extra precautions with amounts that large, so I have my manger take a look at it. Of course, she wants to look into it more so we ask if he would like to have a seat and we'll call him when its done. Mind you, I have a line forming so while she is researching the transaction I could be helping other customers.

He says "No Ill wait. It shouldn't be long."

But it is. And he continues to stand at my window for 10-15 mins, every so often throwing in a stupid comment like "I don't know whY this bank does all this. They know me at the other branch that I go to all the time. I do this sort of thing all the time. IDK why you are giving me such a hard time." Just stupid comments like that that I can't really say anything back to - I've already explained to him at least 5 times why we are doing all this.

Finally the manager comes back and she won't do it for him. Its suspicious and he's being shady so we kindly tell him we can't do this for him today.

And what else would he do besides throw a fit? Nothing short of it. So he goes on and on - "Ive been a customer here forever, this is never an issue, I do this all the time" bla bla bla gibberish that everyone says. He leaves, leaving me distraught but forced to be in a great mood for the next customer. I inhale and call the next one over.

Me "Hi how are you?"

Customer I love "Great! I bet you aren't though - some people are just PRICKS and SO impatient!!"

He said this loud enough for the guy to hear for sure so I just look up and sort of blush thinking OMG is this really happening I hope I don't get in trouble cuz of him . . .

Customer "I don't know why some people have to get so mad! Its a bank! You have rules! You're not doing anything crazy!"

Again, still blushing, I look up and start to smile with relief.

Customer "And since he was so MEAN to you IM going to be super NICE to you!! And I know you can't say anything honey, so I'll just say it for you!!"

He goes on and on about my previous customer, the whole time I just do his transaction and crack up, knowing the stress from the other guy was now gone and maybe I wasn't going to have such a crummy day after all.

Thank you guy from Party City <3
